Before we sail on this journey together, I would love you to recite this foundational phrase to yourself. Say ‘’ I‘m who I’m in God and man’s approval isn’t needed’’.
There is an error I have seen on the surface of the earth which has eaten up the future of our youth in years past and still looming all over the places, living life void of its originality. Today everyone wants to fit in, measure up and feel among suddenly we all forgot the uniqueness of our backgrounds, cultures, traditions, our belief systems and give in to copycat, duplicate and copy write of what we are not and would never be. The truth is, no matter how hard we try, we cannot be the next man and if we keep trying, then let us get ready to die trying as a photocopy of the original.
One of the greatest forces in the universe is to have a human being living consistently with his or her identity. It’s a battle but must be fault to finish because when we keep wearing mask, a time shall come when it cannot be easily removed without removing our own facial skin. Every successful true life consists completely and ultimately accepting yourself as you are, be careful not to listen to anyone who tells you what you can and can’t do. If you ever end up with a boring and miserable life because you listen to your father, mother, teacher, priest or some guy on television telling you how to do your thing, then you deserved it. Am not saying you cannot get quite a good advice from such persons or medium but get motivated, inspired and be yourself.
We must identify the fact that, to be one person is an obligation not just an individual amidst the crowd. Always like, love and express yourself, do not go out there looking for a successful personality to copy or duplicate because you are born an original, don’t die a photocopy. Be who you are and don’t let the world define you. If God had wanted you otherwise; He would have created you otherwise. This might be hard on someone out there but hear this, if you are not happy with your life the way God creates you, then don’t try to please others because you will never succeed, just go and die because there is no point living.
Our Dos and Don’ts are supposed to be determined by our real identity without self-compromise. The fact that everyone is doing a particular thing does not make it right. Everybody could be ignorantly wrong at the same time waiting for the right person to show up, just to make the long awaited difference and that could be you. We must learn to stop giving our lives to other people and always make ourselves the first rate version of our lives no matter what, instead of a second rate version of someone else. When we do not know who we are, we adopt fashion and abort the original. Being yourself, you are simply putting something beautiful into this world that was not there even before time began, these natural and supernatural endowment cannot be accessed on the pages of any world library. Instead of wishing to be someone else, just be proud of who you are because millions of people are also wishing to be like you.
A friend of mine will always say, when the mouth is not talking, then is not doing its work. People must talk about you and most time it tells how relevant and valuable you are, don’t get it twisted. The point am making here is, their emotion of you should not be you major business because life is too short to allow what other say about you border you, rather let it help you develop two eyes behind your head to enable you see what’s behind you. Like I said earlier, being you is a battle that must be fought to finish. To be yourself with this confidence is a clear indication that you have already won even before you start the fight. We should not allow other people limited perception to define us. 
Many have faked their present state of life because they felt the past where they came from is nothing to write home about. It will interest you to know that, is not your background, race or even the family you came out from, just name them but is YOU! Try and make peace with your past and do not allow it dictate where you are going to. Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion ever accepted was once eccentric. Being different is not a bad thing, it simply means you are brave enough to been yourself. Never apologize for showing your feeling if necessary, never regret being who you truly are, those who truly matter to your life will love you no matter what.
It’s my desire to see young people get these challenges right to keep the future hopeful and void of hypocrisy and self-deceit that hurts and destroys confidence level at old age. Wish I could have helped all of you get to a point in life where pleasing someone no longer matters anymore.
NB: For any reason you want to impress someone else, being yourself is all it takes, don’t be someone else, just be yourself. Be who you were created to be and you will suddenly set your world on fire.
